King’s 1st XI takes out GPS Premiership and Northern District Twenty20 Cup

The 1st XI became GPS Premiers at the end of the season for the third time since 1966. Jubilant celebrations erupted on the field as the team, captained by Baxter Holt, won in a stunning turn-around from the start of the season. After losing the first two matches, the team went on to win the five remaining matches and take out the premiership and for our Year 12 boys this was the culmination of their cricket careers at The King’s School.

The boys continued the tradition of walking the fields on the last day of the season, with Baxter Holt, Dougal Hicks and Rupert Lilburne introducing the team to the Prep 1st XI and our new Year 7 boys.

In addition to taking out the GPS premiership, the 1st XI was named as joint premiers of the Northern District Twenty20 Cup.

Great work from the 1st XI and we can’t wait to see what next season has in store.
