The Broughton and Forrest Exhibition

In 1853, Robert Campbell gave £3,000 to found a scholarship so that able boys could proceed to an English University.  The gift was later supplemented by Robert’s son, John.

Today, the Broughton and Forrest Exhibition is tenable for three years at the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge.  The Scholarship is valued at $24,000 (AUD) annually for three years.

Stanley Wilson Oxford Scholarship

The Stanley Wilson Oxford Scholarship was left to the School by Charles Stanley Wentworth Wilson as a bequest on his death in 1944.  Mr Wilson was the father of M.G. Wilson (TKS 1916-1920), A.S. Wilson (TKS 1921-1925), and B.C. Wilson (TKS 1923-1926), grandfather of J.R. Wilson (1947-50) and T.M.F. Wilson (TKS 1944-1947), and great-grandfather of L.T. Wilson (TKS 1971-1976) and A.S. Wilson (TKS 1972-1978).

The Scholarship was originally intended to help past students who proceeded to Wadham College, particularly or another Oxford University College.   In 1974 its terms were widened to include study at other universities.

Today, the Stanley Wilson Scholarship is tenable for three years at the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, or another university where the holder is ineligible to receive Commonwealth Government funding applicable to tertiary studies.

The Scholarship is valued at $6,100 (AUD) annually for three years.

Sydney was killed in action in France on 10 October 1916 while serving as a Second Lieutenant in the 71st Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery.  A shell struck him and burst on percussion.  Sydney is buried in France, less than 100 metres from where he fell.
