Conquering Kosciuszko

As part of our pillar of character development, our Year 6 students took on the challenge of hiking 19 kilometres to the summit of Australia’s highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko.

A formidable task for anyone, made even more demanding by wet, foggy conditions along with over 900 metres of elevation gain, a true test of endurance and resilience.

Our boys got to face the challenge alongside their friends in Year 6 from The King’s School, Tudor House, working together as one school on the journey to the summit.

Setting out from Alpine Way along the Dead Horse Gap trail our students had one goal in mind, reaching the summit and being able to declare themselves the tallest person in Australia. While energy levels ebbed and flowed as they battled the challenging alpine terrain their determination never once wavered. Through teamwork, encouragement and perseverance, every student successfully made it to the top.

The experience was made even more memorable by the presence of the Heads of School from each campus, Tudor, Prep and Senior, along with our Interim Headmaster, Rev Stephen Edwards.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students and the staff who supported them on this adventure.
