Annual Giving Day
Whilst school fees cover the operational costs of running the School, our philanthropic work helps to create exceptional educational experiences for our students. At The King’s School, our boys are privileged to enjoy many opportunities in an environment set on 320 acres in the middle of Australia’s global city, Sydney. No one at King’s today can take credit for the extraordinary opportunities available at the School. It is because of the generosity and commitment of those that have come before us over the last 200 years. They have given enormously in time, energy, commitment and philanthropy.
As the beneficiaries of the foresight and commitment of generations of past families of The King’s School, the community of 2026 have the chance to play its part in ensuring the School continues to provide opportunities, not only to the current generation but also to future generations.
Support our Appeals and Initiatives
Support the development and maintenance of our wonderful facilities. The buildings and facilities from which generations of students have benefited, are almost entirely the result of the generosity of families. We are grateful for their support and commitment. In supporting the development and maintenance of our facilities, it unlocks the potential of every student and future generation of students. Make an unfettered tax-deductible donation to the building fund of either The King’s School or Tudor House.
King’s has a longstanding connection to the bush. Our rural heritage spans back to 1831. The Next Crop is an initiative that will assist the School in providing means-tested, boarding bursaries for country families. The program creates opportunities for young boys from rural and regional areas who may not otherwise have the means to access a King’s education. By supporting the program, you help shape the next generation of leaders, boys who grow through challenge, contribute to community life and carry the spirit of the School back to the communities they call home.
In 2026, construction will begin on the new pool facilities in the W.S. Friend Sports Centre. This will see the existing 8-lane, 50-metre pool replaced with a 10-lane competition pool featuring two full-sized water polo courts. The redevelopment includes improved changerooms, first aid facilities, secure storage, administrative offices, lift access, enhanced accessibility features and a new grandstand with seating for 600 spectators. This element of the project is fully tax-deductible.
The Prep School Playground is designed to support early learning, creativity and physical development through movement, imagination and connection. With engaging play equipment, open spaces for discovery, shaded areas, seating and improved safety surfaces, it will provide a secure and stimulating environment where young learners can build confidence and independence. Accessible features and thoughtfully designed play structures will ensure every child can participate, encouraging curiosity, social connection and a lifelong love of activity and discovery.
As we journey together towards the 2031 bicentenary, this is an opportunity to make your mark in the history of King’s – Australia’s oldest independent school. The Chapel Pavillion project is no small undertaking. Given the deep history and connection to the Memorial Chapel, it seems only fitting for the building to be recognised to the families that have donated, with all significant donors honoured in perpetuity.
- A 250-seat indoor/outdoor classroom to facilitate educational programs that nurture our boys’ character development, commitment to service-learning and leadership.
- Space that accommodates a whole year group who can assemble and immerse themselves in the rich history, traditions and culture of the School as a Christian community.
- A multipurpose venue with amenities and catering facilities where the community can gather to celebrate significant events.
The Recreation Shed will feature a generous 800-square-metre indoor area, complemented by a 300-square-metre covered outdoor space. Designed as a flexible, multipurpose facility, it will support a wide range of School needs from outdoor programs, sports and boarding house activities to community events and gatherings. This all-weather venue will fit the whole School, providing students and staff with a reliable, year-round space to connect, participate and thrive.
The Jack Egan Awards were established in memory of Old Boy Jack Egan who attended Tudor House (’54) and The King’s School (’59). He earned the distinction of Dux, School Captain, sportsman, writer and beloved friend. Jack’s deep affection for Tudor House inspired his peers to create a bursary that opens the doors of a Tudor House education to students who show potential but whose families may not have the means. Your gift to this award helps provide life changing opportunities for students with strong academic capability and talent in areas such as sport, music, drama or art. With your support, the Jack Egan Awards continue to honour a remarkable legacy while ensuring deserving young students can thrive at Tudor House.
