The King’s School reflects on the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

It is with great sadness that The King’s School received the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

I have written today to Buckingham Palace to ask that our deepest sympathy and condolences be conveyed to His Majesty The King and other members of the Royal Family, on behalf of the School Council, Headmaster, staff, parents and students, past and present.

Her Majesty had a genuine interest in and warm affection for Australia, together with an outstanding dedication to duty for over 70 years.

Across all three campuses, our School paused today to reflect on this extraordinary life. Flags at The King’s School will continue to be flown at half-mast as we observe the national mourning period.

A Service of Thanksgiving will also be held. There will be more information to follow.

From Monday 12 September, condolence books will be placed in the reception of each campus office which will be forward to the Palace. You are welcome to leave a message. Alternatively, messages can be sent via email to community@kings.edu.au for inclusion.

Sincerely,

Mr Tony George
Headmaster – The King’s School
