Will Rogers (‘24) has gained selection in the Australian Under 23 Men’s Quad Sculls to compete in the 2025 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, 23-27 July in Poznan, Poland.
Will has made the Australian Under 23 Team as an 18 year old in his first year out of school against much older athletes. He is stroking the Men’s Under 23 Quad with Hamish Danks in three, Adam Holland in two and Sam Mounter in the Bow seat. We wish the whole crew all the best as they prepare for Poland.
Rory Menzies (’22), currently studying at University of California Berkeley, has been invited to trial for the Australian Under 23 Men’s Coxed Eight. Selection trials will take place at Princeton, New Jersey on 13-18 June.
This crew will be selected from US based athletes, who like Rory have had the opportunity to study at prestigious US Colleges thanks to their rowing excellence. Those selected will compete at the 2025 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Poznan as well.
We also recognise and celebrate other King’s rowers enjoying the same opportunity in the US: Lexi McClean (‘20) at Yale, Lachlan Roach (‘20) at Harvard and Campbell Wickham (‘25) who will shortly join Brown University in September.
We wish Rory and Will all the best – Rory in making the Team next month at Princeton, and Will in preparation for the World Championships in Poland.
