Experiencing Life as a King’s Boarder

Residential education has been an integral element of King’s School life since the doors to the School were opened. Today, almost 400 students reside as boarders across Tudor House and King’s Parramatta campuses.

This week, all Year 5 students enjoyed the opportunity to experience life as a resident at the School. The Senior School Camps Week provided some empty boarding houses where the Year 5 boys could move in and settle into bedrooms and common areas.

It was an eye-opener for the boys as they experienced the comfortable and well-equipped resources that the boarding students at King’s enjoy. Access to the extensive facilities after hours and the high-quality dining arrangements left many boys saying that they would consider boarding for an extended period in the future when they head into their Senior School years.

The residential experience was organised by Year 5 teacher, Henry Evans, a former Macarthur Waddy boarder himself. The program was well-supported by Year 5 teachers, and other staff and Executive members. We thank the staff involved for creating this special opportunity for the boys.
