Congratulations to the Class of 2025

Congratulations to the Class of 2025, who received their HSC results today.  

We celebrate the amazing work of our Year 12 students who have gained outstanding HSC results across a wide range of courses. 

The Class of 2025 has been extremely diligent in their efforts, staying focused on their studies without compromising their co-curricular involvement across the School. They should be incredibly proud. 

A comprehensive summary of results will be issued over the coming days, but for now, we are delighted to share some of our exceptional results:   

  • The Class achieved 419 Band 6 and E4 results. 
  • Top ATAR: Nicholas Chen, James Mao, Murphy Xi with perfect scores of 99.95. 
  • Two students achieved an ATAR of 99.9 Chen Liang and Andrew Wang. 
  • James Mao First-in-Course for Enterprise Computing. 
  • 11 State Rankings in Top Achievers list by 11 students in 8 subjects: Enterprise Computing, Construction, Chinese Continuers, Music Extension, German Extension, English Advanced, English EAL/D, Chemistry and Mathematics Advanced 
  • 23 boys have been named in the All-rounder’s list achieving Band 6 in ten or more units. 
  • Distinguished Achievers: 162 students gained at least one Band 6 result. This includes Year 11 accelerated students. 
  • 100% of students in English Extension 2, German Extension and Music Extension achieved a Band 6 result. 
  • It was another year of outstanding English results: 
    • 57 students (39%) achieved a Band 6 in English Advanced. This was three times the State average for Band 6 results. 
    • 139 students in English Advanced (95%) achieved results in the top two bands (Band 5 or Band 6). This is the most in the School’s history. 
  • Mathematics achieved another exceptional year, with results concentrated in the top two bands: 93% of Mathematics Advanced students attained Band 5 or 6 (59% Band 6, a record high), 95% of Extension 1 students achieved E3 or E4, and 100% of Extension 2 students achieved E3 or E4, with 58% in the top band. 
  • The results for Drama were the best in the School’s history, with 16 students (89%) achieving a Band 6 result. This is three times the State average. 
  • The Music Department achieved exceptional results with: 
    • 11 ENCORE nominations 
    • 100% of students attaining a Band 5 or 6 across Music 1 and Music 2 (including 78% and 60% achieving Band 6 respectively) 
    • Outstanding success in Music Extension, with a 4th place in the State and 100% of students attaining a Band 6. 
  • Visual Arts achieved the best results in the School’s history. There were 6 nominations for ArtExpress and 3 selections. 73% of students in Visual Arts achieved a Band 6. 
  • Modern History recorded 14 Band 6 results, three times the State average. 
  • Business Studies recorded 27 Band 6 results, while Economics achieved double the State average for Band 6 and 88% of students attained a Band 5 or 6. 
  • 92% of Studies of Religion 1 students achieved a Band 5 and Band 6 result. 
  • Physics and Chemistry both delivered outstanding results, with Band 6 outcomes well above the State average and Chemistry achieving a State Ranking. 36% of Physics students and a record 39% of Chemistry students achieved Band 6 results, approximately three times the State average.  
  • Construction achieved three State rankings and Band 5–6 outcomes well above the State average across all VET courses. 
  • In the first year of the new course, Enterprise Computing, students achieved exceptional results, including a first-in-course and Band 6 outcomes three to four times the State average. 
  • Geography achieved the best results in the School’s history with 30% of students achieving a Band 6 result and 74% of students achieving a Band 5 or Band 6 result. This is particularly impressive given it was the first year of the new syllabus. 
  • Languages recorded exceptional results, with State rankings in Chinese and German and 100% Band 5–6 outcomes across all Chinese courses and German Extension (100% Band 6). 
  • PDHPE continued their strong trend of increasing Band 6 results, achieving double the State average. 70% of the cohort received a Band 5 or 6 result. 
  • Agriculture recorded another strong year, achieving double the State average for Band 6 results. 
  • 59 nominations for practical subjects, including Drama (28), Industrial Technology (14), Music (11), and Visual Arts (6). 

Congratulations to every student from the Class of 2025 and well done to all the staff who have helped the boys produce these results.
