Winning the waiting list war

Intense competition for places at Australia’s best schools creates a nightmare for parents with applications often lodged before a child is born, long waiting lists and no guarantee of a place.

Researching and choosing a school that matches the need of a child takes serious thought. The nightmare only continues if parents discover their child has missed out on a place at their first choice of school.

But many parents are not aware that there is an easier way to guarantee their child’s entry to their preferred high school, easing their stress and reducing the intense pressure on traditional entry points, such as Year 7.

Some schools, including The King’s School, offer the opportunity to join in Year 5. This means students become acquainted with their new school and classmates as part of a smaller intake year and they will guarantee entry to Year 7.

Set on 320 acres at Parramatta, The King’s School Preparatory School offers an enriching environment with every opportunity for students to learn and develop and plenty of space to grow.

Year 5 is a wonderful time to join The King’s School, with access to an outstanding teaching and learning curriculum built within the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, plus sport and co-curricular programs promoting the development of leadership skills and personal growth.

Join us at the Year 7 information Evening on July 29 to find out more about The King’s School and to share your son’s King’s adventure.
