Pre-Kindy will be a five day program for boys during school terms.
A son will need to have turned four by March 31 of the entry year.
About 20 places will be offered to Pre-Kindy boys. Characteristically, there are more applications than places available – so don’t delay.
The program will reflect The International Baccalaureate PYP curriculum framework. The curriculum is collaborative, interactive, reflective and inquiry-based, with learning through play an essential characteristic. Learning will be under the direction of the Director of Learning for the Prep School.
The program will be enriched by specialist teachers in the Creative and Performing Arts, Mandarin classes and in Physical Education.
The Pre-Kindy classroom will be spacious and beautifully resourced, replicating a homely, caring atmosphere.
The Reggio Emilia philosophy will inspire the learning environments and the role of the child in his learning community.
Wellbeing, engagement and pastoral care will be led by The Director of Students.
The daily routine will replicate many aspects of ‘Big School’, and will set the boys up for greater success in the academic, social, physical and emotional areas of their lives.
Pre-Kindy boys may arrive after 8:00am for an 8:25am - 9:00am start. School finishes at 2:50pm and boys can stay for supervised play until 4:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
After School Care is available from 4:00pm onwards (3:00pm on Thursday) on a user-pays basis.
There is a smart but comfortable school uniform. Most items can be purchased at the Braeside Shop in the Senior School, 9683 8463 or .
