The King's Theatre
Theatrical performances take place several times a year at The King's School, giving boys the opportunity to enjoy participating in a musical or dramatic productions, free from the constraints of an academic subject. This allows students the opportunity to tread the boards and experience the electricity of performing before a packed house. Here, they can indulge their interests in acting, singing, dancing, playing in the orchestra, or working behind the scenes with stage management, lighting, sound and scenic design. In collaboration with the girls from Tara Anglican School, the boys are afforded a cultural and social experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
The King's Theatre provides an annual program that enriches the entire School community, allowing us all to experience the world from another perspective. Our season of highly professional productions offers the community much range and diversity and affords us the chance to enjoy and embrace the buzz of live entertainment. Audience members will walk away having had a wondrous time and for a small moment, a rare glimpse into another world, a small walk in someone else's shoes!
“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” ···
