Overview

Participation in sport is considered as an important part of the educational philosophy at King's. We cater for boys at all levels in a wide variety of sports and the experiences gained in all areas are supportive of the educational aims of the School.

Boys will participate in one of a number of sports in each season, choosing from Basketball, Cricket, Rowing, Swimming and Tennis in summer and Football, Rugby or Cross Country in winter. In addition, King's has a proud record in Athletics and Rifle Shooting. The summer season is played in Terms four and one and the winter season occupies the majority of Terms two and three.

King's is a member of the AAGPS sporting organisation that arguably provides our boys with most keenly contested schoolboy sporting contests in the country. Games are organised between the member schools of the AAGPS and a number of other schools in order to provide teams with evenly matched contests, based on ability, on a weekly basis.

At competition level (usually 1sts and 2nds teams for senior boys) in any sport, the contests are at an elite level. Many boys have gone on to represent national teams in a number of sports and at Olympic and Commonwealth Games. The School has a proud tradition of success at the highest levels in most sports on offer.
