Senior students from King's have joined The Space Odyssey team with girls from Tara, after Tara was selected by the Oxford University Astrophysics Department as the Australian school to participate in their Global Jet Watch Program.

Overview

The King's School Art Show, held each August, is famous for being one of the most prestigious and selective shows of its kind in Australia. The Art Show features The King's School $15,000 acquisitive Art Prize which is very highly regarded in the art community.

In addition, an impressive collection of art is displayed for sale with most leading Australian artists and galleries represented, like paintings from Norman Lindsay, Arthur Boyd, Joseph Frost, Ian Hansen, Anita Newman, Pro Hart, Robyn Gosbell, Nicholas Harding and Frank Hodgkinson.

Leading jewellery designers and manufacturers offer an impressive display of contemporary, antique and costume jewellery at the Art Show. French perfume, leather handbags and fine accessories also are available for sale. The Art Show Craft area has over fifty displayers with a wonderful assortment of “King's Bears”, dolls, ceramics, glass, pottery, soft fabric, decoupage, wooden and other original craft work which must be seen to be appreciated. The Art Show also includes a Wine Room and gourmet food section, which offers a carefully selected range of delicious food along with red, white and sparkling wines to satisfy all tastes. Patrons can also enjoy the history and tradition of Gowan Brae, the ‘mouth watering’ Art Show cafe, musical entertainment and the wonderful grounds of the school.
