CHAPLAIN

The King's School was founded as a Christian School and throughout its history, Christian ministry has always been a vital part of its life. The School has a broad ministry as it seeks to serve the students, staff, old boys and all of their respective families. We seek to make an impact for Christ in the World.

Chapel is an integral part of our week with each student being involved in at least one Chapel Service. Our Boarding Community attends a couple of Chapels per term on Sunday Evenings. We enjoy both formal and informal styles of worship and meet either in our assembly halls or historic Chapel. These community times together are vital as we explore God's Word and pray for the needs of our School and community. The Chapel is also available for Baptisms and Weddings for members of our School.

Students are taught Biblical Studies in each of their years at school. These classes will focus on developing knowledge of the Bible and the Christian faith with a special emphasis on Jesus as the fulfilment of God's plan. Other religions are also investigated as are various contemporary ethical issues so as to encourage students to contemplate theirs and other beliefs and actions in this world.

There are many vibrant Christian Student and Staff Fellowship groups that meet weekly for those who wish to personally explore their faith. There are junior, middle and upper school mid week fellowship groups for boarders and Crusader groups in the Infants, Prep and Senior School. Leadership training is highly regarded at Kings and time is spent to equip Christian students to minister in the School context and beyond.

Church@Kings was established in 2005 for the Kings Community so as to support students, staff, old boys and their respective families in their Christian lives.  We seek to serve the King's community to help them understand the Christian message and the impact it has on our lives and to serve those in our community who may be in need. During term time we meet each Sunday at 9.30am in the Auditorium of the CLL and also on the last Sunday of each month at 8am in the Chapel for Communion.
