Confirmation provides an opportunity for a person to publicly declare their faith in Jesus. Each year a Confirmation Service is held at the King’s School Chapel for people who would like to confirm their faith in Jesus. The Confirmation Service for 2010 is on Thursday, 23 September at 7pm at the School Chapel. This year Bishop Ray Smith will be conducting the service.
Information for Boarders
Boarding students in Year 9 or above are eligible for Confirmation as this seems an appropriate age for a considered response. Involvement in Confirmation is voluntary. All boarders are given the opportunity to undertake preparation and participate in the subsequent service. Boys who have not been previously baptized can do so as part of the preparation process.
Several staff members will be preparing the students and helping them to understand the promises they will undertake. The preparation will involve six classes and the classes begin on Thursday 12 August from 8pm in the CLL Auditorium.
Information for other members of the School Community
Boarding Students are not the only ones who can be confirmed in our Chapel but any
family members of the King’s Community in Year 9 or above can also join us. This includes
Dayboys and their siblings, parents and grandparents. The Confirmation Service is held
with the Boarders but the preparation will be completed at a different time as there are
too many for any one group.
Preparation will occur during Church@Kings Services, 9.30 - 10.30am in the CLL Auditorium. The classes will begin on Sunday 15 August.
