Geography Department

Geography is a compulsory subject for Years 7 to 10 as the NSW Board of Studies requires all students to sit a School Certificate examination in Geography, Civics and Citizenship at the end of Year 10. Read more...

History Department
The teaching of History at The King's School at all stages (Years 7-10 and Years 11-12), is designed to allow students to learn about the interaction, over time and space, of individuals, groups and societies and the political, social and economic circumstances which arise from this interaction. Industrial Arts Department
The Industrial Arts Department at The King's School offers a variety of experience to boys, both within the timetable and outside it. Traditional areas of Wood and Metal Technology continue to be offered, together with Design and Technology, Graphics Technology and Robotics. Read more...

Languages Department
The King's School offers three modern languages: French, German and Chinese. All boys in Year 7 select either one of the modern languages or Latin. Read more...

Mathematics Department
Mathematics in New South Wales is compulsory in Years 7 to 10, with its study being optional in Years 11 and 12. Different levels of study are available depending on a boy's ability, interest and future use of the subject. Read more...

Music Department
Music is woven through the experience of every boy at King's. By the end of his time at the School he will, at the very least, have completed 100 hours of compulsory classroom tuition, have sung in Chapel services and have heard performances in assemblies by School and visiting musicians. PDHPE Department
Personal Development, Health and Physical Education in New South Wales is compulsory in Years 7-10, with its study being optional in Years 11 and 12. The subject provides the opportunity for boys to explore issues that are likely to impact on the health and wellbeing of themselves and others, now and in the future. Read more...

Science Department

The Science Faculty is one of the largest at The King's School. Science is a compulsory subject in Years 7-10 with Agricultural Technology one of many popular electives in Years 8-10.
