The purpose of the Foundation is to raise funds for the development of the School. An Old Boy of a prominent school in England said this about fundraising at his alma mater:
"When you are in your late 40's and basking in the sunlight at the top of the tree, you begin to lose some of the sap-hungry egoism that brought you to where you are, and appreciate that you wouldn't be there if somebody hadn't nurtured the roots and trunk;...it seems sensible for a leaf to channel some of that sunlight back to the trunk that supported it."
(Adam Williams, Radley College)
The members and supporters of The King's School Foundation have been nurturing the roots and trunk for almost 40 years.
" It is estimated that if all the money made available to the School over the last 30 years by the Foundation had been borrowed, then current tuition fees would need to be at least 13% higher."
